Ikea gave no explanation as to why the products were on the market for so long before a recall was deemed necessary. The company says that after receiving complaints from customers it identified the risk of potential harm in canopies used to cover cots in the models: Legendarisk, Minnen Bed canopy set, Barnslig Boll, Minnen Brodyr, Himmel, Fabler, Tissla and Klammig. IKEA has not sold children’s canopies since 2008 but asks that all customers who have an IKEA children’s bed canopy bring it back to any IKEA store for a full refund.
